The makers have confirmed that this 20 gauge shotgun was completed on August 10, 1923 for B.H. Dyas Corporation, Los Angeles with patent detachable locks, Westley Richards snap lever work, automatic ejectors, scroll back action, and 2 ¾ inch chambers. Single bead sight on the matte rib, Birmingham nitro proofs on the flats, "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co./LONDON" marked barrels, and improved cylinder/improved modified chokes. The scalloped receiver features full coverage English scroll engraving with standard maker's marks on the sides and "WESTLEY RICHARDS/PATENT ONE TRIGGER" marked ahead of the break lever and automatic tang safety with gold inlaid "SAFE." Checkered forearm with engraved fittings and well figured pistol grip stock with blank gold initial escutcheon and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech, proved and measuring .615/.615 inch; choke, .009/.021 minimum wall thickness .029/.031 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches, weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.

Very fine as refurbished. 97% plus blue finish remains with a few light scratches and handling marks on the replacement barrels. The receiver has 90% case colors and sharp engraving. The trigger guard and hinged floor plate have some small dings and scratches under the blue. The wood is also very fine with crisp checkering, attractive color, and a few small dings. Mechanically excellent.
