Multi-point checkered splinter forearm with Anson style latch and pistol grip stock with horn trigger guard, engraved steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, initial oval inscribed "A/F/1938" and serrated horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .672/.672 inch; minimum wall thickness .029/.028 inch; drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 3/4 inches.

Very fine. 95% plus original blue finish remains on the barrels with some small dings around the muzzles, light handling marks, and some small forearm marks. The receiver and locks have 75% original muted case colors, crisp engraving, and an attractive gray patina on the balance. The refinished, lengthened wood is fine with crisp, well-defined checkering and some small scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
