The receiver is engraved with wedges and flourishes of fine English scroll and has a cocking indicator and sliding lower tang safety. Checkered forend with engraved fittings, horn forend and grip caps, and pistol grip stock with engraved checkered steel buttplate. With leather bound takedown case marked "HBB" on the lid.

Fine. 60% original blue finish remains on the barrel with sharp markings, small scattered scratches, and mild edge wear. The receiver has 40% original blue finish with the balance a mostly brown patina with some small scratches and handling marks. The wood is also fine with well defined checkering and small dings and dents throughout. Mechanically very good. Case is fair with scuffs and age cracking throughout, broken handle and strap, and absent end flap on the lid.
