This is an original Winchester signal cannon with "-NOT FOR BALL-" on top of the barrel, the two-line address and patent marking and "10 GA" on the right of the barrel at the breech, the Winchester trademark on the opposite side, the "WP" proofmark on top at the breech, the trademark data cast in raised letters on both cheeks of the carriage, and an original Winchester wooden crate marked for Von Lengerke & Antoinne of Chicago, Illinois. The 10 gauge breech loading Winchester Cannon was designed by Charles H. Griffith and patented on August 20, 1901.

Excellent plus, near new condition overall with mild storage wear. The crate is fine with moderate wear from storage and shipping including tight separation cracks. This is undoubtedly the finest Winchester signal cannon we have ever offered at auction!
