Manufactured about 1900, this is an early pattern "large ring flat side" Broomhandle pistol. Blade front and thousand-meter tangent rear sights, with the "crown/crown/U" proof on the left side of the chamber, "antler" style proof on the right, and "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF a/N" on top. The hammer is the early "large ring" configuration, with a matching early safety and the flat-sided frame. Matching numbers are present on a number of components, including the floor plate, follower, hammer assembly and the insides of the 23-groove grips. With a hardwood shoulder stock, numbered to match on the iron, a barrel rod, extra magazine spring and a brown leather harness marked "A.PH. Hoffmann/Berlin/1916" on the rear.

Very fine, with 98% of the professionally restored blue finish, showing some light edge wear and handling marks. The grips are very good, with a few light dents, and the small components show bright straw/niter blue finish. The refinished stock and reproduction harness show some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
