Description:

Manufactured c.1902-1904, this is a fine Mauser Broomhandle semi-automatic pistol, featuring an early "large ring" hammer, the compact "Bolo" frame, a reduced six-round capacity magazine, and a properly scaled stock holster, a hard to find combination of features. Designed with the private buyer in mind, the Bolo Broomhandle was more compact than the standard Mauser, better for carry in a more typical holster or concealment on the person as a defensive weapon. Blade front and 1000-meter tangent rear sights, with the three-line Mauser address on the top chamber flat, the two-line address on the right side of the frame, "crown/crown/U" proofs on the chamber and bolt, and matching serial number on the external components, as well as on the follower, floorplate, and the insides of the 32-groove grips. The included stock is re-numbered to match the pistol on the mounting iron, with the neck, internal cavity and grip opening properly sized for the Bolo dimensions.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally restored, showing 98% rust blue, with some bright edge wear, the start of a gray patina on the grip frame, and scattered light handling marks. Pitting is visible in a few areas, especially on the interior. The grips are fine, with a few chips around the screw escutcheon and mild dents. The refinished stock is very good as repaired, with some cracks and scuffs. Mechanically very good.
