Dated "42" on top of the chamber and bearing the "S/42" Mauser code on the front toggle link, the left side of the barrel extension is marked "Ku" with the stick eagle "LA" stamp on the barrel, extension, and breechblock. The "Ku Luger" is something of a mystery, as the purpose of the "Ku" and "LA" markings have never been conclusively determined; some speculate that they were machined by Mauser and finished by Krieghoff, or that they were issued to the "Kustenfliegers" (Coastal Flyers, Luftwaffe pilots who served as the Nazi version of the Fleet Air Arm). Additionally, a "42" has been stamped on the side plate, with full-blue components, checkered grips and a blue finished alloy base magazine with "42/3752" markings. A brown leather holster, dated "1940" and marked for C. Weiss of Braunschweig, is included, as is an extra magazine, blued with an unmarked base.

Very good, with 80% of the refinished blue finish, showing areas of brown patina on the trigger guard and grip frame, scattered spotting, a few small areas of shallow pitting, and mild handling marks. The grips are fair, with some flat spots and dents. The magazine appears remarked. The holster is fair, with some scuffs and cracks. Mechanically excellent.
