This is an example of a very early DWM Model 1900 Swiss military contract Luger. An estimated 3,000 military contract pistols were manufactured in the 2,000-5,000 serial number range. These pistols have the dished toggles with toggle lock, flat/recessed breech bolt, no stock lug, grip safety, flat mainsprings, and fast taper barrel that is 4 3/4 inches long. This pistol has the standard "Swiss Cross in Sunburst" over the chamber and "DWM" scroll on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the standard Swiss Military Cross and Swiss control proof. Original fixed blade front sight and original "V" notch rear sight with the small Swiss Cross in front of the rear sight. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips stamped with the partial serial number (40) on the back of each grip and one original unmarked Swiss nickel plated wood bottom magazine.

Very fine with 99% of the armory blue finish remaining overall with only very minor edge and high spot wear. The straw colored small parts retain 95% of their straw colors overall. The grips are excellent with nice distinct sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
