Description:

Both revolvers have standard markings and features for the model, and come with a black leatherette case with presentation plaque, and a U.S. Army private weapon identification card, verifying them as the personal property of General Saint during his posting in West Germany. The A plaque reads "To General Crosbie E. Saint/from Lieutenant General Rolf Binder/April 1990". In this context, "Lieutenant General" is a translation of Binder's Swiss rank of Korpskommandant; this is functionally the highest rank in the Swiss Army, as the rank of full General is reserved exclusively for wartime or national crisis. At the time of the presentation, Binder was the "Ausbildungschef", responsible for overall training of the Swiss armed forces. Included with the grouping are two letters dated 20 July 1992, from Colonel Georg von Erlach of the Swiss Army to Colonel H. Rance Farrell, the Defense Attache at the American Embassy in Bern, verifying the revolvers by serial number as being drawn from the Swiss armory at Bern for presentation to General Saint.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% of the dark matte blue finish, showing a few areas of brown patina and some light spotting and handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent.
