Offered here is a rare civilian variation of the Colt Model 1905 "USMC" revolver, which was manufactured in 1906. Although this revolver falls into the serial number range (10001-10800) of Model 1905s delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps, it lacks U.S. military inspection markings. Civilian Model 1905s are extremely difficult to find or obtain on today's market. The barrel has the two-line address/patent dates (1884, 1888 and 1895) marking on top and "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side. A circled Rampant Colt is stamped on the left side of the frame. The left side of the trigger guard has a double struck Colt factory triangle proof. The cylinder release, yoke and crane are stamped with matching assembly numbers. The right grip panel has the number "598." The butt has the serial number and a factory plugged lanyard hole.
