A) World War I U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle

Description:

Blade front sight and folding ladder rear sight. Springfield barrel dated "11-17" and the receiver ring marked "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903." over the serial number. The bolt handle is straight. Smooth straight wrist finger groove stock, with dual reinforcement bolts, a circled, un-serifed "P" behind the trigger guard, a "C.F.H." cartouche on the left, and a checkered buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 70% of the blue finish, showing areas of mixed patina, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. A dark casehardened pattern is visible on the receiver. The stock has been "duffle bag cut", with the glue having come undone and scattered dents and scratches overall. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Blade front and adjustable peep sights, with a "10 43" dated Smith-Corona barrel, blued bolt with a canted handle, and a mixture of blue and parkerized furniture. Smooth straight grip stock, with "E" on the forearm tip, "13" on the underside near the mid band, a circled unserifed "P" behind the trigger guard, 4 small proof stamps ahead, "FJA", Ordnance crossed cannons and "OG" down the left side, and a flat checkered buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with 98% plus parkerization, showing some light handling marks and spotting. The arsenal sanded, reoiled stock is fine with a few scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
