Manufactured in 1926. The pistol is complete with the original purple cardboard box serial numbered to the gun along with the fiber cleaning brush, instruction sheet and "SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS" pamphlet. The pistol has the early, half-moon front sight and round top rear sight. The pistol has a nickel-plated magazine marked: "CAL.380/COLT" on the floor plate. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped with post-1925 marking: "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE .380 HAMMERLESS" in two lines below the ejection port. The left side of the slide is marked with the post-1925, two-line, elongated Hartford address and 1897 and 1903 patent dates and has the Rampant Colt trademark behind the slide serrations. The serial number is located on the left side of the frame. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with the assembler's "1" mark above the Colt "triangle/VP" proofmark. The cardboard carton has a deep purple cover and a white end label marked "HAMMERLESS" with a small blue label marked "WOOD" on the left side. The bottom of the carton has the pistols serial number marked in grease pencil. Colt promotional labels are glued to the inside of the box lid and bottom.

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original nickel-plated finish. Wear is limited to some minor scuff marks on the slide and two very small areas of flaking at the butt. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering, and the magazine shows only light handling wear. The box is in good condition with edge wear on the corners and hinge and a broken edge on the lid opposite the label. The lower end label and right top corner has been torn off the box. The carton interior is in fine condition. This is an excellent example of an original nickel-plated Colt .380 Hammerless pistol with original matching serialized box and accessories.
