According to the included factory letter, this pistol was a shipment of one to Belcher & Loomis Hardware Company of Providence, Rhode Island, on July 5, 1934. This would be the introductory year for the Super 38, with the Match (aka Super Match) being the hand-honed and fitted target variant of the Super 38. Half moon front and fixed square notch rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, "MATCH" on the right side over the model and Rampant Colt markings, and the matching number beneath the firing pin stop. The frame is marked "W/VP" and "60" on the trigger guard, with a wide hammer, short milled trigger, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered grips, two-tone magazine, and a "38 COLT/MB" match barrel.

Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing spots of cold blue touch up overall, a noticeable dent on both front forward sides of the frame, a number of takedown lines and handling marks, bright edge wear, and minor spotting. Areas of brown and gray patina are present on the grip frame, and the very good grip panels show dents and heavy wear on both bottoms. Mechanically excellent.
