Emil Flues is perhaps best known as the designer of one of Ithaca Gun Company's most successful double barrel models , and he was a prolific designer and gun maker in his own right. Out of a 41 year career in making guns, Flues spent at least 30 of those in Buffalo, New York, during which time he worked with some of the greatest names in American gun making such as Pope and Newton and had a long association with Master Engraver Rudolph Kornbrath. This Emil Flues features a single bead sight on a smooth concave rib with a gold inlaid bar ahead of the breech, "KRUPP FLUID STEEL" marked barrels, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, improved cylinder/modified (.008/.013) chokes, and delicate fine line engraving around the breech. The fancy scalloped box lock receiver features full coverage fine leafy scroll engraving with a pair of brilliant gold inlaid pheasants on either side. The receiver has side clips and is marked "E.
