The chart on page 291 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote notes that only 85 DHE Grade guns were manufactured in 28 gauge with 26 inch Titanic Steel barrels. "Parker Identification & Serialization" verifies the grade, capped pistol grip, barrel length, gauge, and ejectors. Single bead sight on the concave rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL", standard markings on the flats, 2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors, and modified/improved modified chokes. Standard D grade engraving on the receiver with dog and bird scenes of a setter on the right, pointer on the left, and a group of four pheasants on the underside. The balance has fine scroll engraving. The receiver has the correct lightening cuts on the water table and has standard markings, dual triggers, and automatic tang safety. Checkered splinter forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, blank initial oval, and lightly engraved skeleton buttplate over a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .550/.550 inch; minimum wall thickness .030/.030 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches. With leather bound takedown case.

Fine. 90% original blue finish remains on the barrels with some small dings around the muzzles, faint edge wear, and light handling marks. The receiver has 50% plus original case colors with a mottled gray/brown patina on the balance, and the trigger guard mostly brown with some spotting. The trigger guard has strong traces of original blue. The freshened wood is also fine with crisp checkering and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent. Case is good with scuffs and dings on the exterior.
