Description:

Manufactured in 1927. According to the chart on page 298 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote only 56 CH grade shotguns were manufactured with 28 inch Acme steel barrels chambered for 16 gauge shells. Single bead sight on the matte rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. ACME STEEL" with 2 1/2 inch chambers, ejectors, standard markings on the flats, and improved cylinder/modified (.009/.014) chokes. The receiver features full coverage, fine floral and scroll engraving with hunting dog scenes on the sides, and a duck on the underside. Checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with engraved fittings, Parker Brothers hard rubber grip cap, and engraved skeleton buttplate on a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .668/.669 inch; minimum wall thickness .021/.021 inch; drop at comb 1 1/4 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine as refinished. The barrels have 60% of the blue finish with areas thinning to a mottled brown, and uneven applied finish near the breeches, small visible dents, and some light spotting. The receiver has a cleaned overall silver/gray patina with well-defined engraving and some light spotting. The highly figured refinished wood is good with well-defined, though worn, checkering, small gaps around the tangs, and small dings overall. Mechanically very good.
