Dual white bead sights on the matte concave rib, 2 1/2 inch chambers, automatic ejectors, one-line A.H. Fox Philadelphia address on left barrel, and cylinder chokes. Standard "C" grade engraving on the receiver with scenes of woodcock on the right, quail on the left, and a hunting dog on the underside. The balance features fine floral and scroll engraving. Replacement Miller single trigger without selector and sliding tang safety. Checkered beavertail forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with fancy-fleur-de-lis checkering and ventilated rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .735/.735 inch; minimum wall thickness .028/.028 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 13 5/8 inches. The second barrel set has been numbered to the gun and has 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, improved modified/full chokes, and the later Savage Arms barrel address.

Fine as Savage factory refinished. 85% of the blue finish remains on the barrels with some light edge wear and small forearm marks. The receiver has vibrant case colors with very clear, though slightly soft, engraving, mild edge wear, and some light spotting. The revarnished, re-checkered wood is fine with small dings throughout, small chips in the varnish, and crazing around the butt. Mechanically very good. Extra barrel set is fine with some edge wear, light spotting and handling marks. Both barrels show separation on the upper rib between the rear sight and breech and the 26 inch set has been shortened to its current length.
