Description:

The barrels are Birmingham black powder proofed and marked "HENRY'S RIFLING A&T" (Adams & Tate) along with "1671" (right) and "1672" (left) on the bottom. The matted rib is signed "OLIVER. ORMROD." and equipped with a bead front sight and three leaf rear sight (one standing, two folding) with platinum sight lines. The non-rebounding locks are also signed "OLIVER. ORMROD." and have sliding safeties. The breech end of the barrels and most of the furniture have scroll and floral engraving. The action has carved percussion fences. There is no visible serial number. The well figured stock and forearm have fine checkering, a horn grip cap, blank silver oval escutcheon, and a serrated horn buttplate. The bottom of the rib and the butt have sling eyes.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 75% plus original blue finish with some flaking and spots of loss, the majority of the original case colors, smooth gray patina on the balance, generally crisp checkering, distinct markings and engraving, and some slight nicks and scratches throughout. Mechanically excellent.
