Description:

Manufactured in the last quarter of the 19th century. This shotgun features a single bead front sight on a concave rib marked "STEPHEN GRANT 67A ST JAMES'S STREET. LONDON", and features double triggers, English scroll engraving, "S. GRANT" on each of the back action lock plates, serial number on the lower tang as well as the barrels and water table, "H.W" by the barrel numbers, London proof and view marks, blank initial shield, and checkered stock and forearm. The muzzles gauge at improved cylinder and improved modified. The chambers are just under 2 3/4 inches and have a shared extractor. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Rating Definition:

Good with strong original finish under the forearm in the protected areas, strong original case colors on the locks, mostly brown patina on the balance, and some mild surface oxidation, most notably on the buttplate. The wood is very good with crisp checkering, minor scratches, and small dings. Mechanically excellent.
