The P-4W was the highest Presentation Grade available from Browning and features full coverage deeply incised floral and flowing scroll designs on the attractive gray receiver surfaces with the side plates featuring the standard game bird scenes of mallard ducks on the right and pheasants on the left. The underside features a single quail, and the trigger guard features the bust of a retriever dog. Each bird and the dog are rendered in fine semi-relief gold inlay. The left side plate is signed "C.BAERTEN". Finely checkered three-piece forearm and attractively figured straight grip stock with engraved fittings and skip-line checkered bare butt. With original box and shipping sleeve. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .727/.724 inch; minimum wall thickness .036/.038 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent overall. 99% plus original blue finish remains with a few light handling marks. The engraving is sharp and detailed. The highly figured wood is also excellent with just a few small dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is good with corner and edge wear and some tears. Shipping sleeve is good.
