Manufactured in 1919 as a desirable paneled coil spring takedown High Wall "Winder Musket" with second generation features: single barrel band and contoured forearm with finger grooves. The barrel has a blade front sight and lacks provisions for a rear sight. There are also standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proofs, Lyman No. 41 receiver peep sight (note the factory proof on the receiver is offset to accommodate the sight), steel forend cap, and sling swivels. This musket is pictured in John Campbell's "The Winchester Single-Shot" on page 154. As explained in the photo caption, this is the only high wall takedown musket the author had seen with a Lyman No. 41 type sight.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, retaining 99% original blue finish with the buttplate thinning to a brown. The wood is also excellent showing minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. A documented, high condition high wall musket with unusual sight configuration that will be a perfect addition to your Winchester or single shot collection.
