Manufactured in late 1899 (the last number that year per the factory was 85086) with a windgauge globe front sight, no rear sight dovetail, mid-range Vernier peep sight, #4 weight barrel with standard factory markings including the caliber on top near the breech, correctly no "WP" proofs, two-empty taps on the bottom of the barrel, non-factory palm rest, extended trigger guard/lever, double set triggers, the patent marking between the rear trigger and screw, serial number in script between the tang screws, fancy grade checkered walnut forearm with ebony insert and pistol grip buttstock with large cheek piece, "9244 XXX S BO" on the left side of the lower tang, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, "9244" on the butt, and "4049" on the underside of the nickel plated Swiss buttplate at the toe.

Fine with 75% blue finish, minor edge wear, some slight pitting with cold blue touch up visible at the left side of the frame, subdued case colors on the lever, traces of original nickel plating on the buttplate, aged patina on the exposed brass, and general minor marks and scratches. The wood is very fine and has crisp checkering, minor scratches and pressure marks, and attractive figure. Mechanically excellent.
