Manufactured in 1955 with standard markings and features, this Model 42 was pulled out of general production as a factory quality control test gun. There is a small "DO" electro penciled on the left of the trigger guard, "N/1/3" is painted on the lower edge of the buttstock, and there is a Winchester factory tag on the trigger guard marked "QUALITY/CONTROL/TEST GUN". It certainly shows signs of rigorous factory testing. It has a 3 inch chamber, full choke, and 14 inch length of pull. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the shotgun by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent as subjected to factory testing, retains 90% plus original blue finish with some light edge wear, mild cycling wear, and light handling marks. The stock is fine with some scattered minor handling marks and a moderate chip absent in the lower edge of the buttstock and buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
