Winchester Model 50 shotguns were manufactured from 1954-1961 starting with serial number 1,000. This example appears to be a fairly late pre-production prototype bearing the experimental serial number "EXP2". It has an unmarked barrel, single "WRP" proof on the top left of the receiver, and the serial number on the underside of the receiver ahead of the loading port. 2 3/4 inch chamber and cylinder choke. Checkered, semi-beavertail extension forearm, which differs from the final production model, and pistol grip stock with vented Winchester recoil pad. It also has a white plastic grip cap that does not appear in final production. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; and 14 inch length of pull. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the shotgun by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent. 97% plus original finish remains with some small nicks and scratches on the receiver. The wood is also excellent with crisp checkering and some small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
