This is one of the approximately 294,000 Model 1895 Muskets sold to the Imperial Russian Government between 1915 and 1916. These muskets were similar to the standard musket, but with a stripper clip guide mounted on top of the receiver, chambered for the 7.62 Russian Nagant cartridge and bayonet lug. The top of the chamber has the Winchester factory proof over "7.62/M.M.", upper tang has the three-line model/trademark information, and the left side of the receiver has the two-line address/patent marking. Pinned blade front sight, ladder rear sight graduated to 3,200 meters, full length finger groove forearm, upper handguard and carbine buttplate with compartment holding a pull through bore brush.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining 30% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The refinished wood is fine showing minor handling evidence. The refinished buttstock sling swivel has been removed. Mechanically excellent.
