Only 3,300 of these pistols were manufactured in 1963 and 1964 (this one dates to 1963) in response to public demand for small caliber, high velocity handguns. They are built on the frame and action of a Ruger flattop single action revolver fitted with a rotating breechblock in place of the cylinder. The cartridges are loaded directly into the barrel which is marked "RUGER HAWKEYE/WIN. .256 MAG. CAL." on the left side and is also is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. It also has revolver style blade and adjustable notch sights. The receiver has the two line address on the left side, and the breechblock latch is on the left side of the breech. Includes a factory box.

Excellent overall with 98% plus original finish and minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with taped repairs and moderate edge and corner wear.
