Description:

The action has standard Sharps and Lawrence patent markings, multiple visible cartouches on the stock, and a saddle ring bar with ring on the left side of the receiver. This is one of 60,000 New Model 1863 carbines manufactured for use during the Civil War and one of 27,000 Sharps carbines relined to .50 caliber and chambered for the .50-70 cartridge after the war for impending use in the Indian wars.

Rating Definition:

Fine plus as arsenal refinished, retains 60% blue finish and 40% case colors overall with the balance a smooth grey patina. The reoiled wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches and crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
