Description:

The carbine has the distinctive guide screw in the right side of the frame that identifies it as a Fifth Model carbine. Standard markings and sub-inspection marks are stamped on some components. It has a pinched blade front sight, two leaf rear sight (graduated "1", "3" and "5"), saddle ring and bar on the left side of the action, and an oil finished forearm and straight grip stock with an iron buttplate, two cartouches, and sling swivel.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, retains 40% plus original blue finish and some traces of original case color amongst the balance of brown patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. A hardened protective coating has been applied to the metal and wood overall. The fine wood has some minor-moderate dings and chips, and two crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
