Description:

The barrel is marked "SALVE!!! SALVE!!! SALVE!!!" (Hello! Hello! Hello!), "NON PER PALLA" (Not for Ball), a coat of arms (similar to that of Genoa), "BREVETTO No 739" (Patent No 739), "OFFICIA 'CORTE'/GENOVA," (Official Court, Genoa), and "FAIT/POUR MONSIEUR/ALFREDO GOTTLING/BUENOS AYRES" (Made for Sir Alfredo Gottling, Buenos Aires). The breech has the caliber designation. It is mounted on a wooden carriage. Alfredo Gottling was a well-known arms dealer in Buenos Aires whose "La Porteña" store sold fine American and European arms to the Argentinean elite, including fine factory engraved and gold inlaid Colt revolvers.
