Manufactured in 1880 as a second model with receiver dust cover rail secured by two screws and a dust cover with rear edge serrations. The accompanying Cody Firearms Museum serial number research request lists this rifle with a special order 28 inch heavy octagon barrel and set trigger when shipped on September 11, 1890. Dovetail blade and elevation adjustable sights, standard Winchester markings (correctly lacking a caliber designation), special order single set trigger and trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included).

Rating Definition:

Good, retaining traces of original blue finish with the balance a mixed brown-gray patina. There is some minor pitting. The refinished wood is fair with a sizeable surface chip missing from the buttstock and minor-moderate handling/storage marks. Mechanically excellent.
