Description:

The barrel has dovetailed blade and notch sights, "DERINGER/PHILADA" on top between the rear sight and breech, and a German silver banded and scroll engraved breech. The bottom of the barrel and breech plug and barrel channel of the stock are marked with "X." The lock and other furniture is also scroll engraved. It is equipped with double set triggers. The stock has a slender checkered wrist, rounded cheekpiece with a German silver inlay with an animal, a pierced and engraved toe plate, and an engraved buttplate. The rifle was possibly not manufactured by Henry Deringer and instead, like many of the "Deringer" pistols, was possibly manufactured by one of his many talented imitators. None the less, it is of high quality!

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 75% original blue/brown finish with a coating of protective varnish, crisp markings and engraving, minor wear, a few dings in the otherwise very fine stock with crisp checkering, and light scratches. Over half of the mottled original case colors are remaining. Mechanically fine.
