Description:

Manufactured from the late 1870s to 1880s with only a few thousand have been manufactured. This example has the added rarity of featuring an extensive factory floral motif engraving that incorporates a game bird scene on the left side plate. The floral pattern consists of vines, leaves and blossoms. The top strap is accented with dot scrollwork and a cross hatching pattern surrounds the game bird scene. It has scoop cylinder flutes, a loading gate, two-line address/patent dates marking on the barrel rib, two-line address on the left side of the frame, "38 CAL" on the right side of the frame, and matching assembly numbers on the left side of the frame under the grip panel, cylinder and barrel.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 90% plus original nickel finish with the balance a mix of smooth dark patina and minor to moderate flaking. The grips are fine with the left panel repaired and missing a shallow chip at the top. Mechanically excellent.
