This minuscule pistols were built by James Beattie around 1848-1863 given the address on the barrels and case. They have engraved borders at the muzzles, "J-BEATTIE 205 REGENT/STREET LONDON" on top of the barrels, London proof and view marks at the breeches, fine scrollwork on the box lock actions and grip straps, fish hammers, folding triggers, sliding half-cock safety catches, and finely checkered and nicely figured grips with silver escutcheons and caps. They come in a hardwood case with green baize lining, Beattie trade label for the same address as the barrels, pocket powder flask, cap container, bore rods, and several lead balls.

Very fine overall with 75% plus of the casehardened finish, crisp barrel marking and engraving, light proofs, crisp checkering, attractive figure, aged patina on the silver, and minimal age and storage related wear. Mechanically excellent.
