The multi-stage barrel is marked with a pair of Tower private proofs on the left at the breech, ring pattern at the breech, and has a folding "snap" bayonet with an 11 1/2 inch blade on top. The caliber is estimated above. A horn tipped ramrod is fitted below. The lock and furniture have some border engraving, and the trigger guard has an acorn finial. The lock is signed "WALLIS" at the center, possibly for George Wallis Sr. or Jr. of Hull. The stock has star patterns in the broad checkering diamonds.

Good with mottled gray patina and mild pitting on the iron, attractive natural aged patina on the brass throughout, crisp checkering, mild scratches and dings throughout, slight chip at the tail of the upper tang, a few splashes of varnish, and darkening of the heel area. Mechanically fine.
