Description:

The barrel has the following in or accented by gold: band at the muzzle, engraved girdle, "Ano" on the upper left flat, "de 1815" on the upper right flat, three fleurs-de-lis on the upper flats flanking the "crown/M./ASTI/AZA/RAN" maker's mark, gold lined vent, scrollwork on most of the remainder of the upper flats, and a scalloped border at the breech. The other components also generally have scroll engraving accented with gilded backgrounds. The Spanish "patilla" style lock is signed "Astia/zaran" at the center. A belt hook is fitted on the left. The stock has raised relief scallop borders. The pistol was manufactured shortly after King Ferdinand VII's return as absolute monarch of Spain.

Rating Definition:

Very good with nearly all of the gold remaining, gray an brown patina on the balance, distinct marking and engraving, and general mild wear. The refinished stock is good with repairs in the wrist, crisp carving, and light scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
