Manufactured in 1877. The factory letter lists this revolver with blue finish, 38 caliber chamber and barrel length and top of stocks not listed when shipped to Spies Kissam and Co., New York City on August 27, 1877. Barrel has the two-line Hartford address with the acid etched caliber marking on the left side. Frame has the three-line, three patent dates marking on the left side. Fitted with a checkered walnut bird head grip.

Very good. The revolver retains 20% of the original blue finish and traces of original case colors in and around the protected areas with the balance a smooth brown patina. The etched caliber panel is lightly visible. The grip is fine with worn high edges and some scattered blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine, but is slightly out of time.
