The makers have confirmed that this 16 gauge shotgun was completed on 30 June 1908 for Von Lengerke & Antoine with patent detachable locks, patent one trigger mechanism, automatic ejectors and 28 inch steel barrels. Blued barrels with doll's head extension and single bead sight on the concave, matte rib with barrels marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. LONDON/VON LENGERKE & ANTOINE. CHICAGO AGENTS", "G3258" marked on the barrels and tang, 2 3/4 inch chambers, London nitro reproofs dated 1995 and maker's marks on the flats, and improved cylinder/cylinder chokes. The drop lock action features full coverage fine English scroll engraving, standard proofs on the water table, maker's marks on the sides, and "WESTLEY RICHARDS/RELIABLE ONE TRIGGER" marking on top ahead of the break lever. Automatic tang safety with silver inlaid "SAFE" and selective single trigger. Nicely figured, checkered beavertail forearm with Anson latch, engraved fittings, and straight grip stock with gold inscription plaque on the toe line reading "MATT EASTMAN", and engraved heel and toe caps on a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: right barrel proved at 17.1mm(.673), measuring .676, left barrel proved at 16.9mm (.665), measuring at .669; chokes .007/.002, minimum wall thickness .021/.020 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches, weight 6 lbs. 3 oz.

Very fine as professionally restored with 98% deep blue finish remaining on the shortened barrels with sharp markings and engraving and some scattered light surface scratches. The receiver has 95% original vivid case colors with some very faint edge wear on the fences and sharp engraving. The trigger guard tang does have some small marks under the blue behind the loop. The refinished wood is also very fine with attractive color and grain, sharp checkering, and some small dings and pressure marks. Mechanically very good.
