Description:

This is a 1/3 scale functional copy of the Colt-Gatling Model 1874. Brass construction with steel barrels with the underside of the main body and marked "Made by/Karl J. Furr & Paul Kuhne/Orem, Ut. Feb 1978". The top of the body is fitted with a miniature Colt Gatling gun plaque. With a scaled down Broadwell type magazine for .22 short ammunition. The major components and most of the small parts are stamped with the serial number "30". With a hardwood carriage with brass fittings and yoke, transom and elevation adjustment, storage compartment for extra small parts. Carriage measures 17 7/8 inches high at the wheels, 23 inches wide across the axle, and approximately 26 1/2 inches long from the axle to the rear.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The gun and carriage fittings have an overall bright finish with some spotting and oxidation visible on the barrels, light patina on some of the brass and handling marks overall. The dovetail that mounts the gun to the elevation adjustment screw has broken off at the brazing. Mechanically needs extensive internal work. The barrels will turn and cycle manually, however the crank handle is not connecting to the inner gear work and just turns freely.
