Description:

According to the factory letter, this pistol was part of a 20-piece shipment to the Paxton & Gallagher Company of Omaha, Nebraska on September 24, 1920, returned in 1921 and shipped again as three pieces to Farwell, Ozmun, Kirk & Company of Saint Paul, Minnesota on March 23, 1921. The Adams letter (which calls the pistol a Colt 1902 but matches the serial number) authenticates John Adams Junior as the engraver and records the "D" grade floral scroll as well as a blue and case finish job by Turnbull Restoration. Fixed sights and standard markings, with punch-dot backed floral scroll engraving covering 95% plus of the surface, with some zig-zag borders and geometric accents. The trigger is a deep royal blue, with a casehardened spur hammer.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall as master embellished by John Adams Jr., with 98% plus, showing some light handling marks overall. Bright colors are present on the hammer, and the grips show a fine grain and color. Mechanically excellent.
