Manufactured in 1955. Red bead front and steel bead mid sights on the New Winchester Special Ventilated Rib with standard barrel markings, Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and improved cylinder choke. Most important is the "28" stamp internally which requires removal of buttstock (see photo). The barrel collar is engraved with a pigeon and matching numbers on the receiver and collar. Attractively figured American walnut forearm with fancy diamond checkering, checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber Winchester grip cap, and checkered Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Excellent. 97% plus original blue finish remains with some light slide retraction wear visible on the magazine tube, and some scattered small surface scratches. The wood is also excellent plus with attractive figure, sharp checkering, and just a few small, scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
