According to factory records (photocopy of Colt letter included) this pistol was part of a 500 piece shipment to Springfield Armory on November 3, 1944. By serial number, it is two digits off from a documented General Officer 1908, but it's exact use is unrecorded. Overall features are standard, with a high polish Colt blue finish, a "U.S. PROPERTY" mark on the right side of the frame, "crossed cannon" cartouche on the left, a set of checkered Colt medallion grips and a full blue magazine. Included with the pistol is an extra magazine, barrel brush, cleaning rod, instruction sheet with U.S. Navy Bureau of Ordnance markings, and a reproduction box.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina on top of the slide and grip straps, bright edge wear, mild potting and light scratches and handling marks. The grips are also very fine, with some minor dings and verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
