Manufactured in Canada and dated "1943", this is the signature British light machine gun from World War II into the 1980s. Originally developed in Czechoslovakia as the ZB vz.26, the Bren passes a competitive trial in 1922 against such competition as the Browning BAR and the Lewis Gun. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a folding carry handle on the quick-detach barrel, hardwood pistol grip and buttstock, and mounting points for a field or vehicle mount on the forearm and buttstock. A faint marking (possibly a Texan import mark) is present on the right side of the receiver. Some components are marked "DP" for Drill Purpose.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 50% of the arsenal blue finish, showing a bright color on the muzzle device, bright edge wear, areas of spotting and brown patina, and mild handling marks. The buttplate is absent, and the stock shows some mild dings and dents. Mechanically excellent.
