Description:

This is a very fine example of one of the more iconic WWII SMGs: the British MkII Sten submachine gun. This weapon was manufactured by the Special Weapons Co. in North Carolina using a set of WWII British Sten parts mated to a newly manufactured receiver tube. The STEN SMG was probably one of the most widely used SMGs during WWII. They were manufactured in England for approximately $ 9.00 each and were used by numerous allied forces throughout the war. It was also manufactured with a barrel mounted suppressor and dropped to thousands of resistance fighters in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Italy. They were unique in that the wire stock and barrel could be removed making them easy to parachute into allied forces. It fires from and open bolt with the standard 9 mm Luger cartridge. The top of the magazine well is marked MkII and the underside is stamped "87/FL38184", and the right side of the bolt has been numbered "15906". The left rear side of the receiver tube is stamped "SWC 0087/SPECIAL WEAPONS CO./WILM NC". It comes with a U.S. M1D type, lace on leather cheek pad, marked "MRT" on the side which is mounted on the loop style stock and one 30 round stick magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as remanufactured with 98% of the current light gray parkerized finish overall with the bolt still in the white. A very nice looking, ready to go STEN MkII type SMG. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
