Description:

The M151A2 was the last of the Jeeps to see U.S. military service and were replaced by the HMMWV. This M151A2 is interesting in that it has been modified with a reinforced body and straight axles. This Jeep is purported to be an experimental M151A2-LC (Light Cargo) as acquired directly from AM General and is the only known example to exist, as stated in an appraisal letter from David W. Uhrig, military vehicle broker and appraiser and MVPA member. AM General experimented with the A2 body and engine using the civilian CJ-5 fixed axles, T-90 transmission and T-18 transfer. The purpose of the experimental model was to eradicate the rollover problem experienced in both the A1 and A2. The vehicle was never put into production. Four M151A2s are believed to have been built and then converted back to original configuration. Without additional documentation, we will allow the buyer to determine the validity of Uhrig’s claim. This Jeep is outfitted with a standard military 4 cylinder gas engine and features a U.S. Army medical corps paint scheme. Comes with a military radio. Consignor research is included.

Rating Definition:

The metal work and paint are very good. It does have a clutch issue, so it could not be run.
