Description:

The Stalwart was built by Alvis, was used by the British Army from 1966 to 1992 and was the post-WWII British version of the DUKW. It was designed to carry 5 tons of cargo or as many as 30 troops in its large rear compartment and to be amphibious with little preparation. Two steerable water jets propelled the Stalwart in water. While on land, it moved over difficult terrain by full-time six-wheel drive on fully independent suspension. Steering was accomplished by the front four wheels. Stalwarts seldom come on the market. This example was manufactured in 1965 and has a Rolls Royce B81 straight 8 cylinder gas engine. Consignor research and vehicle title are included.

Rating Definition:

This vehicle shows much use, the tires are good, and the paint and body work are fair to good. The engine does run but the harmonic balancer appears to be broken.
