Description:

Closely patterned after the mountain cap, the 1943 field cap retained the folding side flaps and included a longer visor. This example is constructed of feldgrau cloth, with two-piece "eagle" and "totenkopf" SS patches on the front, white waffenfarbe (infantry) around the crown, a single thermoplastic button securing the flaps, gray rayon lining stamped "57", and a leather forehead sweat pad stamped "QUALITATS/MARKE".

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing light staining appropriate to age. The stitching all appears solid, and the patches show a few brown spots.
