It has a brass barrel band, trigger guard and buttplate which is marked "US" on the heel. There are two faint cartouches just above the saddle ring bar.

Rating Definition:

Good, showing a mixture of bright and grey patina with the brass showing an attractive aged patina speckled with some brown. The period refinished wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout and a crack in the bottom edge of the right flat. Mechanically excellent.
