Description:

Measuring 36 inches overall, with a 30 3/8 inch double fuller blade, decorated on each side with etched patriotic and martial motifs, and the Ames address on the right side. The hilt is gilt brass, with floral scroll accents between the branches and a wire wrapped sharkskin grip. With a black leather scabbard, fitted with gilt brass furniture and marked with the Ames address on the reverse of the throat.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The very fine blade is bright overall, with patches of spotting, a few small areas of pitting, and some nicks and chips of the edge. Half the original gilt finish is present on the brass, with a well aged antique patina on the exposed areas. The leather portion of the scabbard is fair, with some repairs near the tip.
