Description:

1) WKC officer sword, 35 inches overall, with a 29 7/8 inch long straight single fuller blade with etched decoration, brass guard, faux rayskin grip and a leather covered scabbard with brass furniture. 2) Civil War 1862 dated Ames naval cutlass, 31 3/4 inches overall, with a 26 inch single fuller blade bearing the Ames "scroll" mark on the left side, an anchor over the date on the right, with brass hilt, black leather grip, and a riveted black leather scabbard.

Rating Definition:

1) The blade is very fine, with minor handling marks. The brass shows a mixed but well aged patina, with the pommel cap showing evidence of adhesive repair, and the leather shows some scuffs and cuts. 2) Very good. The fine blade shows a mixed gray patina, with spotting concentrated towards the tip, some light edge nicks, and a few areas of pitting. A mixed aged patina is present on the brass, with the grip wire absent, and the leather shows wear and tear appropriate to age.
