Description:

This is a nice example of a Civil War Model 1861 Army revolver manufactured under government contract by the Starr Arms Co. of New York. Starr was the third largest supplier of handguns to the Union during the war. It has the standard markings and features including cartouches on the grip and small inspection marks.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% original blue finish, 85% vibrant original case colors on the loading lever, 60% lighter original case colors on the hammer, silver gray patina on the faded areas. The grip is very good with a coat of varnish, mild lower edge wear, and light scratches and dings. Mechanically needs work (cylinder not revolving when cocked).
